An exceptional setting for sporting and convivial rallies among clay-court enthusiasts, at the heart of a listed natural site in the garden city of Le Vésinet.
A registered sports association (1901 law) founded on 3 April 1925, the Vésinet Ibis Tennis Club has six traditional clay courts, four of them on the shore of the Grand Lac, on the Île des Ibis — a listed natural site and an emblem of the “garden city”.
Four outdoor clay courts on the Île des Ibis (April to autumn), two floodlit indoor courts in Chatou (21 chemin de Cormeilles), a mini-tennis & pickleball area, and a Club House with bar, terrace and a Yoga/Pilates/Gym studio upstairs.
30 weeks of lessons from September to June, led by our team of coaches.
A busy sporting calendar all year round, from social play to competition.
Yoga · Pilates · Gym · Zumba, with independent instructors, in the Club House studio.
The club is founded on the initiative of James Willoughby. It opens with a prestigious men’s doubles featuring René Lacoste and Jacques Brugnon, followed by the first major opening tournament in June.
The Île des Ibis is listed as a natural site: the club takes lasting root in the sporting life of Le Vésinet.
A fire destroys the buildings. Thanks to everyone’s sporting spirit, a larger and more comfortable Club House is rebuilt — without a single day’s interruption to play.
Members fund the construction of two indoor courts in Chatou: tennis and the school now continue all year round.

Club centenary: more than 100 mixed doubles played in period dress and a garden lunch bringing 130 guests together on the island.
